Tips
for you!
When sending a care package --- if there is an empty space between items
in the box put wrapped hard candies in the space --good packing. It
helps your package to get to its destination with less damage in the
box.
********************************************************************
Make a booklet of jokes you get on your email and send in your next
letter-- military like to laugh too.
********************************************************************
Send photo's
of their family in a photo album--- a great way to pass time and enjoy
the happenings of home!
********************************************************************
Send the name and address of that favorite person, that is deployed
to Nebraska Troops---515 E. Donegal --- O'Neill, NE --- 68763 or email
beth@inebraska.com -- we would like to send them a care package. Also
please send a name ond telepone number of a contact person --- we need
to make sure the address we have is current. Thank You.
********************************************************************
Write a letter or a note telling our military how much we appreciate
their fighting for our freedom---send it in a Care Package with your
name and address.
********************************************************************
If you are wanting to purchase something for a Care Package think of
wet wipes. I have been told they are like "gold" to the troops
as some days that is their only means of getting clean.
********************************************************************
Samples you may have of toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, dryer sheets, these
would be useful to troops serving overseas.
********************************************************************
When going through a drive through, any condiments you do not want put
in a container and give to the Nebraska Troops --- it will give our
military a touch of home in addition to adding more flavor to their
ood. Something for the care packages, FREE to you.
********************************************************************
If you are sending to a person you know, send them their home town newspaper--pictures
of events that have happened or a C D of a recent family event.
********************************************************************
Send items that will entertain during off hours -- Hacky Sacks -- Golf
Balls -- Harmonicas -- Base Balls -- Puzzles, let your mind do the wandering.
********************************************************************
If you are gathering items to send in a care package, use the address
labels you get in the mail and put on the items you send. Our military
like to know who game them the items.
********************************************************************
Socks are always welcome -- the sand and wearing them several days at
a time shortens the life of socks. They work good as packing and even
better on the feet. :)
********************************************************************
It is important to let our military know they are appreciated and remembered.
Send that person in harms way a telephone book of the community they
live. How many times have you gone to your telephone book to find the
address of someone you want to send a letter or call ---our military
are the same. Think of other things you have in your home you take for
granted that they may not have.
********************************************************************
When you go into a business, ask them if they would have a supplier
who would be willing to donate items for the Nebraska Care Packages.
If you are packing a box for someone in service, think of some things
you use everyday - dental floss, band aids, electric extension cords
(long ones), a CD or DVD. The fact they are rememberd is the most important.
Write them a note to let them know you care.
