The
children at Faith Wesleyan Church in Atkinson, Nebraska showed their
support for our troops by completing projects to send in care packages.
These projects included 180 cards with a package of gum enclosed,
40 writing folders, and 180 copies of a patriotic poem with pen.
They
had lots of help – Ruby Dobias and some of her friends got together
to make the cards. Ladies from the Wandering Women’s Brunch Bunch
and Celia Homemakers got together and wrote special notes in each
of the cards. Other people from Faith Wesleyan and the two club
groups donated the packages of gum to go in the cards.
The
ClubHouse children of Faith Wesleyan met on September 27, with their
Adult “Special Friends” to complete the projects. The items were
then delivered to O’Neill to be packed into 180 care packages which
will be sent to Nebraska troops sometime in early November.
ClubHouse
Leaders were grateful for this project in which the children could
be involved. They want to encourage children to pray for our soldiers,
and this hands-on project helps make a connection to real people.
